What Does Land Clearing Cost in Kentucky?

People ask for a price per acre, and the honest answer is that two acres side by side can cost very different amounts to clear. Here's why.

How thick it is

Light brush and saplings go quickly. Mature cedars, hedge and hardwoods take real machine time. An acre of briars and an acre of woods are not the same job.

The lay of the land

Flat ground is fast. Hillsides, ditches and wet bottoms slow everything down and limit which machines can work safely.

What happens to the material

Piling it, burning it, burying it or hauling it away each cost something different. What's allowed depends on where you are, and what makes sense depends on what the land is for.

Stumps and the finish

Cutting everything off at the ground is one price. Pulling the stumps and grading the ground smooth enough to mow or build on is more work, and usually worth it.

Getting to it

If a machine can drive straight in off the road, good. If we have to cut a way in first, that's part of the job.

What the land is for

Clearing for a house site, a pond, a pasture or a fence line are finished to different standards. A home site has to be clean and gradable. A pasture has to be smooth enough to seed.

Getting a real number

Send us the location and what you want the ground used for. We'll look at it and quote the job, not the acre.
